Filter Element Adapter for 3M Scott AV-3000 Mask

The AV-3000 is a respirator mask widely used by fire departments and first responders to provide an alternative to disposable protective masks in short supply due to COVID-19. In case N95 mask reservoirs run out, adapters can be locally manufactured by fire departments, universities, or hobbyists, while consumables can be sourced at hardware or hobby stores. The adapter's body fits into the mask receiver and a Ball jar ring secures a filter element on its face, as shown in picture 7 and 8 above. The filter screen should be installed between the filter element and the jar ring to prevent deformation and failure of the filter from positive pressure inside the mask produced by exhalation. A required but not pictured silicone seal fits between the mask's face and the adapter's rear body, listed in consumables below. If a filter element is unavailable, the attached AdapterAdapter allows users to attach a 30mm-outlet ventilator filter with a silicone seal for the face, a 30mm rubber hose, and clamps.
