Filter Case for 80mm Fan
thingiverse
This is a custom enclosure for enclosed 3D Printers, designed to utilize an existing 80mm fan filter. A small HEPA and Charcoal filter are integrated into the case, which is powered by the Printer's Power Supply using a direct connection to the 24v fan. A downloadable DWG file provides instructions for creating a 5mm thick Plexiglas 'window' that fits seamlessly on the front of the JGAurora A4 3D Printer. This design requires no additional mountings, as it is a precise friction fit on this particular model. However, users can easily adapt this design to various printers. To print this case and cover, orient them correctly and avoid supports. Additional components needed for assembly include: Four m3x5 brass threaded inserts to melt into the holes of the Case Four m3x25 Hex Head Screws One 8015 12-24v fan compatible with your printer's Power Supply For optimal performance, position the fan on the outside to draw air out. This configuration appears to be more effective than placing the fan inside and pushing air through the filters. The effectiveness of this setup in cleaning the air of melted filament while printing is uncertain. However, it provides a sense of satisfaction.
