Film Gel LED Light Box

Film Gel LED Light Box

thingiverse

A tiny box with a slot to hold hundreds of colors and materials from Rosco film gel swatches, measuring 1.5" x 2.5". It requires a short piece of LED strip, disk type G4(s), or LED module(s) mounted in the bottom. Modeled and STL exported directly to 3DHUBS using 3DOrchard beta. Using multiple gels together creates an infinite number of colors. The ideal LED color for best gel reproduction is between 4,000K and 7,000K, but to duplicate regular film lighting, use 2800 Kelvin lights from LilyLEDs. The other LED G4 is a single light point CREE, perfect for creating crisp shadows. Patrick at Scramjet on 3DHUBS did an excellent printing job. The Flashforge Dreamer with black PLA was used to print the box, and the back wall was thickened on 3DOrchard before printing. Tolerances were made slightly tight; it's recommended to print about 2% bigger or you'll need to cut the gel. Seriously, am I the only one getting this stuff printed?
