Fillament Roller Stand

Fillament Roller Stand

Universal roller stand for filament spools was designed originally for my Afinia h479. I created an enclosure with power ventilation to the outside. The enclosure was too small to use a spindle spool holder, so I came up with this idea to set inside the enclosure and be able to load any size spool that I had. The pictures show the original one done on the Afinia, but the print setups are from Simplify3d set up for the Creator Pro. Two roller stands are needed for Dual Extruders on the Creator. Unit shown parts were printed as a group using ABS at .4 layer height. New ones are printed at .3 layer height on the new Creator Pro. Parts needed for bearing installation: Four - 624Z 4mm x 13mm x 5mm single row shielded deep groove ball bearings (bought on Amazon). Four no.8 X 1" machine screws. Four No.8 hex lock nuts. Eight No.8 flat washers. Place one flat washer on the screw against the head, insert the screw through the hole in the spacer with the larger flange against the head and washer. Place the bearing on the screw with the inner race against the small end of the spacer. Place a flat washer against the inner race of the bearing then screw on the lock nut. Tighten but make sure the bearing spins easily. Press the bearing assembly into the end of the roller with the spacer facing out. This spacer is to be seated in the slot in the stand. Repeat for all four roller bearings.
