FilaWinder 18/38 Drive Gears
thingiverse
I needed my FilaWinder to move faster without messing with the code or altering the motor supply voltage, so I changed the gear ratio instead. The small gear is an 18-tooth gear and the large one is a 38-tooth gear, increasing speed by about 50% (from 3.3 to 2.1). A friend generated the gears using Open SCAD's Greg/Wade customizer, which I then attached to the drive pinion and spool hub for this project. If I can determine which SCAD source he started with, I'll post it online. I also modified the "spokes" of the large gear and made the magnet hole a through hole so that magnets of varying depths would work properly. This design was created using DesignSpark Mechanical, and the RSDOC source code is included for reference.
