Filastruder Hopper with Window
thingiverse
I created this hopper for the Filastruder V2, as vertical operation was causing too many problems for me, so I reconfigured it for horizontal use instead.\r\n\r\nThe Hopper extension and lid were drawn up in Fusion 360, using a window concept from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:277996) as inspiration, and the hopper attachment for horizontal operation was taken from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:439909). I added a compatible thread to this design using Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:157541), and to give the hopper a base, I flattened off the top of another design found on Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:89073) to create my new hopper design for the Filastruder V2. It holds approximately 1kg of pellets and has good flow into the extruder.\r\n\r\nIf time allows, by adding threads to the other chutes from Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:439909), this hopper can be used in various orientations with the Filastruder.\r\n\r\nUpdate 24/12/17\r\n\r\nI adjusted the hopper bracket to have a 25-degree tilt, as I now run my Filastruder at a 25-degree downward tilt and found it to be an optimal angle for filament extrusion. Looking at the photo, you'll see that 25 degrees is the maximum tilt available before extending the bracket to clear the main body of the Filastruder. I also added a locating collar to ensure the bracket stays in its correct position.
