Filament width sensor (top) bowden
thingiverse
A lightning-fast upgrade of the original design (credit to jasonmrc). This tweak reduces internal friction while filament flows through, enabling rapid bowden tube connect/disconnect. Enhancements include: * A 4mm OD PTFE tube runs through the center * PC4-M6 thread mounts are installed on either side * Approximately 1.5mm of height is added to accommodate extra tubing and mounts I've successfully printed with this modification using TPU/flexi without any significant issues, keeping in mind that YMMV. Post-print, I had to enlarge the central hole slightly to fit the PTFE tube properly, but I suspect this was due to my tube being a fraction under 4mm. The PTFE tube was sized by fitting one PC4-M6 fitting on one side, then trial-fitting and trimming until it fit snugly with both fittings screwed in place. To secure the tube, superglue or impact adhesive can be used; cut the tube flush with the 'window' using a scalpel.
