Filament Swatch System

This is another take on filament swatches. This allows keeping track of colors and types on hand and ease color choice for your next project. The core of this system is a rolodex size swatch that is printed out for each filament/color. It features a spot for an address size label to record manufacturer, color name, temps, and a purchase date (useful if you want to repurchase the same color years later). The swatch also features a gradual incline area which, when sliced, will generate septs each a layer higher. To help organize swatches, tab dividers are available to sort swatches by material, color, manufacturer, or anything else. A set of blank set of tabs are included for use for a label maker and the Fusion 360 file is included if you want to create your own tabs with raised lettering (as seen here). Finally, a 2 part box is included for storage of swatches. The original Fusion 360 file is included for your editing pleasure. Check the Change Parameters section under Modify as most dimensions are tied to User Created Parameters for easy editing and parametric use. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: i3 MK2S Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .15 mm Infill: Doesn't Matter Notes: Infill percentage doesn't matter too much as there are little amounts of infill at play. Going sparse, such as 10%, will suffice. All items can print without supports. rnrnIf the STL import too small in your choice of slicer software, scale the parts uniformly by 2540%. This is a byproduct of Fusion 360 creating the STL in 1 inch = 1 unit (it was designed in inches) and your slicer treating it as 1 unit = 1 mm. Post-Printing Tabs and Filament swatches come off the build plate ready to go with nothing more than cleaning the edges if needed. The box prints in two parts and the hinges snap together. While the design to snap fit, the pins on the bottom portion may need to be filed down a bit for a better fit, especially with the sets in the middle.rnrnIf desired, add your label to the the swatches as they come off the printer.
