Prusa Mendel 2 (aka 3dp02) boasts an innovative feature where it holds filament coils on its backside at a slightly elevated level. However, during the printing process of tall components, this could pose a problem as the coil might accidentally hit them. A thoughtful engineer cleverly designed an optional arm to keep the filament off the print path. This attachment, when implemented effectively, eliminates the risk of filament collisions. Notably, the design eschews holes for any support bars; instead, it employs a snug-fit system where bars can be pressed into place. This straightforward approach is in line with the Keep It Simple, Stupid (KISS) principle.
