Filament Storage Hygrometer Mount

This device secures an affordable hygrometer, available on Aliexpress or Amazon, to a tight-fitting screw top lid on a 5-gallon bucket. A food-grade bucket was chosen so that it can be used to store food items or dog food when not holding filament. For my printer, the STL file needed to be enlarged by 4% for the hygrometer to fit perfectly. My uncalibrated printer suggests printing the top millimeter or two to check the fit before printing the entire unit. To seal the hole, electrical putty sealant was used, which could also be replaced with tape if handled carefully. Cable clamps, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:749228, were utilized. They were scaled up 150% to fit the self-tapping screws that were available. A screw template was created by flipping the mount over in my slicer (CURA) and reducing the model so that only a few layers printed on the bottom side. These several layers served as the drill template for the screw alignment. In total, excluding filament, approximately $26 was spent on the entire project. This is roughly the cost of a roll of filament and will improve print quality by keeping moisture out of expensive filament.
