Filament Spool Support Bracket - 3D Printing Nerd Contest

myminifactory

This is a Filament Spool Support Bracket specifically created for this contest to attach securely to a 2" x 1" (3/4' x 1 1/2") wooden board. The item consists of several pieces that assemble after printing, with each part printed horizontally to achieve maximum strength possible post-printing. This item comprises four distinct parts: the "Main Spool Bracket," the "Bracket Locking Pin," the "Spool Support Rod," and the "Support Rod Locking Pin." Each part is designed with precision to ensure optimal performance. The Bracket's thickness allows it to fit snugly between standard filament spools, enabling easy attachment to a wooden shelf support without removing the spool from the shelf. To assemble the Filament Spool Support Bracket, simply slide the "Main Spool Bracket" over the Wooden Support, then insert the "Bracket Locking Pin" into the lower holes at the bottom of the "Main Support Bracket," ensuring it is fully seated deep within the part. Next, insert the "Spool Support Rod" into the top front portion of the "Main Support Bracket," making sure to push until it is fully seated deep within the back of the part. Finally, insert the "Support Rod Locking Pin" into the top hole and push until it is fully seated deep within the back of the part, securing the "Spool Support Rod" in place. The assembled Filament Spool Support Bracket securely holds any filament spool, allowing it to unwind and dispense plastic to an awaiting 3D Printer with ease. The “Spool Support Rod” is mounted at a 10 degree angle above horizontal to maintain contact between the “Main Spool Bracket” and the filament spool. When attached to a wooden shelf support, the Filament Spool Support Bracket slides left or right as needed for accurate positioning. To move the Filament Spool Support Bracket, simply remove the "Bracket Locking Pin" from the bottom of the "Main Spool Bracket," lift off the remaining assembly, and then slip it back onto the wooden shelf support in a new location before replacing the "Bracket Locking Pin." If any part were to break, you can reprint only that broken part instead of reprinting the entire assembly, saving plastic, time, and money. Each part was designed to print without supports, minimizing wasted time and resources.
