Filament Spool Storage Rack (Wall Mounted)
thingiverse
My makerspace was facing a storage crisis due to the filament spools cluttering up valuable space alongside our 3D printer. To address this issue, I designed wall mounts specifically for Dremel brand filament spools that could be easily installed without taking up too much room. If you're familiar with Tinkercad, you can quickly adjust the diameter or length of the rod to accommodate different brands of spools. This flexibility makes it easy to adapt the design to fit your specific needs. The wall mount features a recessed pocket for thick double-sided foam tape, which provides a secure hold on the wall. Additionally, I included two countersunk holes that can accept #8 drywall screws. This modification was essential, as my initial prototype without screws failed to stay attached to the wall when humidity built up inside the school over the weekends. To make this design even more versatile, I created two stoppers for our school logos. These stoppers are 1/4 inch thick, so you can import your own logo at the same thickness and replace the existing ones with ease. Simply ungroup the current logos from the stoppers and swap them out with your custom designs.
