filament spool storage
thingiverse
Human: Created a custom spool holder for efficient storage. Space constraints around the printer were minimal, but the design allows for easy mounting to the wall, maximizing available space. Since I store my filament in a plastic bag to maintain dryness, hanging was not feasible. To ensure stability, I secured the bracket with only the top screw, and it holds remarkably well. I utilized aluminum pipes with 12mm outer and 10mm inner diameters for this project. Cutting them to 85mm lengths allowed seamless integration with my filament spools, which are 80mm wide. To assemble the components efficiently, I employed my cordless drill. Simply insert the pipe into the chuck, spin it, and gently push it onto the mount – the result is a sturdy connection that rivals welding. This design accommodates spools of 200mm diameter, 80mm width, and 1kg filament weight with ease.
