Filament spool shelf with 22mm rod ( 1/2" PVC)
prusaprinters
Olo Deepdelver's filament spool shelf looks real nice, but when I tries to print it I do not have enough dowel with me. But I have quite a few 1/2" sch40 pvc pipe ( you can find these at 10ft for ~ $4 USD in home depot or lowes )So I mod the short bracket to use 22mm hole, which take these 1/2" pvc pipes nicely ( almost 22mm od )I also added a side mount bracket, as I am starting this shelf from the side of a existing cabinet. For the sag.. My studs are 24" apart, I am setting it up for about 68" run with 3 bracket and a wall side bracket. The 1/2" pvc is able to hold on with all the filament that can fit on it. There is a little bit of sag but overall holds up well enough. If your wall has shorter stud spacing you should have no problem with sagging at all. Now that I have space.. Gonna see a lot more filament order now…
