Filament spool scale

Filament spool scale

I use airtight cases for 3DJake's 250g filament spools. However, the issue is figuring out how much filament is left in each spool. To solve this problem, I created a smart scale that displays the remaining amount as a percentage. The case is designed to attach to the top right part of my Prusa i3 printer's frame using longer M3 bolts and nuts. A load cell is secured to the case with two 15mm M5 bolts, while an arm is attached to the load cell with two 15mm M4 bolts. Here are the parts I used for this project: - A 5KG scale load cell with HX711AD adapter - An ATTINY85 micro USB development board for Arduino - A 128x32 I2C blue OLED display - Optional: a 3.7V to 5V step-up voltage booster The Arduino code for this project is available on GitHub at filament-spool-scale. You can also watch a video about this project on YouTube.
