I've used several printers and found that their stock spool holders often lead to tension on the filament, resulting in failed prints. The Raise3D printer's tubes can cause resistance issues with certain filaments like polyflex and e-Sun. To address this, these reels fit snugly inside the spools, allowing us to mount them on 1/2" PVC overhead racks. These turn smoothly due to their minimal resistance. A small spring keeps the outer parts securely in place by compressing inside the spool and then rebounding to hold it tight without continuously bending the plastic.
