Cut the empty filament spool neatly in two using a utility knife or sharp scissors. Secure the split ends together tightly with electrical tape, ensuring they are firmly attached to prevent further damage or tangling. To achieve this, hold one end of the tape vertically against the split and apply pressure to the middle while wrapping the remaining length around both parts of the filament spool in a clockwise direction.
