Filament Spool Hub
thingiverse
This is a highly customizable filament spool hub designed for maximum versatility. It allows users to account for some variance in roll hole size, ensuring compatibility with various filaments. Engineered to function seamlessly with or without bearings, the hub can be tailored to suit specific needs by customizing filament hole sizes, bearing diameters, and other parameters. To explore its full potential, try using the customizer tool, modify the .SCAD file, or utilize the provided STL model, which is optimized for an eSUN 1kg spool (52mm diameter hole) paired with a standard skate (608) bearing. Please share your own creative takes on this design! **Print Settings** **Printer Brand:** RepRap **Printer:** i3 Steel **Rafts:** No **Supports:** No **Resolution:** 0.2mm layer height **Notes:** When carefully removing the print from the build platform, be mindful of the legs pointing upwards to avoid splitting the layers. The design features angled edges to facilitate a smooth removal process. Based on personal experience, I find PLA works best for this design. PETG also yields acceptable results, although it may be slightly less rigid than PLA. ABS should also work well, offering another viable option for users.
