Update: Mastered some Fusion 360 techniques, and I've added a chamfer to the bolt end for smoother threading. Download "Hub male v2" for the latest version. In building my filament dry box, I needed an adapter to mount spools on a dowel or rod. Other ideas I'd seen involved threaded rods and jam nuts, but I decided to design a self-contained hub instead. The threaded design accommodates hub widths from 45 cm to 65 cm (you can stretch this to 68 cm for Hatchbox hubs), and hole diameters from 45 cm to 59 cm. This design is optimized for a central axle of up to 13 mm (1/2-inch). This is the very first object I've designed entirely on my own. I'd been using other designs uploaded to thingiverse, but now it's time for me to give back to the community by sharing my creations.
