Filament Spool holder with Ball bearings

<p>This spool holder was designed because the holder which came with the printer didn't work very well. Depending on the movements of the filament the spool can start oscillating which causes unnecessary noise and Vibration. This holder uses ball bearings for a smooth unwinding of the filament and a three point clamping mechanism to hold the spool securely in place. The Holder is designet for spools with a inner diameter of 50mm to aprox. 66mm.&nbsp;</p><p>Additionally to the 3D printed parts you will need the following mounting hardware:</p><p>2 x Ball bearing Innerdiameter 8mm, outer diameter 22mm, width 7mm</p><p>4 x Nut M8</p><p>1 x Threaded rod M8, roughly 150mm long</p><p>1 x Rubber band (for holding the jaws in place)</p><p>Mounting: &nbsp;</p><p>The threaded rod is mountet with two nuts and the two mounting parts to the hole where the original holder was mounted. The washer with the chamfer goes on the outside, the washer with the hexagonal pocket on the inside. The ball bearings are pressed in to the pockets in each end of the rod. The rod is then pushed over the threaded rod and secured with two nuts. Adjust the tension on the nuts so that the assembly can rotate freely. &nbsp;After this the sliding part is put on to the rod. Make sure that the slots for the jaws are aligned. Now insert the jaws and secure them with the rubber band. For the last step the nut is screwed on the rod.&nbsp;</p><p>For mounting a spool: Hold the Rod an undo the nut until the jaws a flush with the sliding part. Put the spool on the holder. Tighten the nut until the spool is gripped firmly.&nbsp;</p><p>Removing a spool: Loose the nut roughly one turn. Remove the spool. Sometimes it can be necessary to use the wrench to loosen the spool. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
