I took the Universal Filament Spool holder design by DDeGonge888 and reimagined it to suit my available supplies perfectly. The largest consideration was my rollers, so I scoured local big box hardware stores for suitable bearings but came up empty-handed. Not wanting to wait for a shipment, I opted for rollers designed for sliding doors instead; they come with built-in bearings and are priced affordably at just six dollars for two units. A major advantage of these rollers is that they have an integrated groove that fits the spool edge snugly. To secure the rollers, I simply used extra machine screws (10-24), nuts, and washers on hand - 1" screws would work too, but I didn't have them available. The configuration consists of a washer, screw, plastic spacer, bearing, washer, plastic spacer, washer, and nut, which fits nicely and rotates freely. An IPT file is included for customization to fit individual solutions. For optimal printing results, it's recommended to orient the design with the base facing down. Additionally, users should ensure their printer can handle bridges or add supports if necessary to prevent print failure.
