# Description It was time to finally create a filament spool holder for my excessive quantities of filament. This design uses my Tribesigns desk which has an upper shelf. The metal bar of the shelf is used requring only a front bracket to attach to the shelf for the rod to sit on. You may use a 1" (25mm) wooden rod or I have included a design for a threaded rod that you can print and connect to create your own 3d printed rod # Parts ## Tribesigns - Shelf Bracket This requires supports on the build plate only (Im able to get away without supports in the threaded hole but your results may vary) ## Tribesigns - Bracket Bolt The tip of this bolt is a print-in-place joint and will rotate. Supports are required so that this hinge functions. The 3MF file has paint on supports already added for you. If you are using the STL only you must ensure supports are added between the tip and the top of the threads. Supports on the threads or the knurled head are optional as most printers can print these without supports. **Once the print is complete and supports are removed ensure the tip spins by twisting it to break away any leftover support material**. ## Threaded Rod This part is optional. It will be a lot faster and cheaper to get a 1" wooden rod from the hardware store. If you choose to use these, you can print as many of you like to get the desired length. Multiple rods can be threaded together to form any length of rod you want. ## Threaded Rob Cap - Male This cap can be added to the end of the rod for a cleaner finish. ## Threaded Rob Cap - Female This cap can be added to the end of the rod for a cleaner finish. ## Filament Rod Label - PLA/TPU/PC/ABS These labels snap onto the rod without the need to remove it.
