Filament Spool Holder/Stand: A Minimalistic Design Inspired by Prusa i2/i3. To create this stand, you'll need to gather the following metal components: * 8x threaded rods (M8 x 210mm) * 16x M8 nuts * 16x M8 washers * 1 linear shaft with a diameter of 8mm and length of 210mm You can also use additional materials, such as 4x M8 nuts and 4x M8 washers, to enhance the stability of the stand. However, this is not strictly necessary. If you want to create a longer stand, simply use two longer threaded rods (each 210mm long) and a corresponding linear shaft with an extended length. For added convenience, consider using pre-made metal threaded rods instead of printing your own. This will save you time and ensure a more stable stand. To take your setup to the next level, integrate this design with an additional spool holder made by rowokii. This collaboration will enable you to use multiple colors simultaneously, perfect for multicolor printers. **Print Settings:** * Printer: Prusa i3 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 25% Before printing, it's recommended that you rotate the top 90 degrees around the X-axis to ensure a smooth and even print. **Why I Created It:** After completing my Prusa-style printer with a Bowden extruder, I found myself pondering where and how to store the filament spool. After scouring various designs, none of them met my expectations. I had leftover M8 threaded rods and linear shafts from building my Prusa clone, so I decided to use these materials to create a minimalistic design that would allow me to quickly assemble a functional stand. **Assembly Guide:** Step 1: Using an 8mm drill bit, carefully enlarge the side holes to ensure proper fitment. Be cautious not to drill through the entire stand, as this will compromise its stability. Step 2: Insert 4 threaded rods into their respective corners, along with 8 nuts and 8 washers (refer to the image below). For a longer stand, substitute these rods with two longer ones (210mm each). Step 3: Carefully insert the rod assemblies into their designated holes. If building a longer stand, position the longer rods in the recess-less holes. Step 4: Insert 4 threaded rods without nuts into the tops of the corners. Step 5: Secure all corners with 8 washers and 8 nuts on the outer sides. Step 6: Assemble the top parts to the base by tightening all the nuts securely. Step 7: Place the linear shaft on top of the construction, securing it firmly in place. Additional Steps: For a more polished appearance, consider adding an additional washer and nut on each standing rod. Alternatively, you can replace the linear shaft with a threaded rod and integrate this stand with an additional spool holder for maximum flexibility.
