This version is improved, simplified and easier to print and assemble than its predecessor.

Mimimum rolling resistance, front loaded filament spool holder for mounting on a shelf above the printer. The roll for the spool rests on top of the pillars so the spool can be changed by lifting it off from the front. The filament should be led straight down through a hole in the shelf in front of the holder.

The roll rests on top of the pillars on two 608 ball bearing mounted with M6 carriage bolts and a nuts on the inside, don't forget the distance spacer between bearing and roll. The square part of the carriage bolt fits nicely in the 8mm hole in the bearing. The roll is made in two pieces for easy access to mount the nuts on the inside. The tolearances are quite tight, no glue should be needed but make sure you use a material with minimal shrinkage.

Additional material needed:
2x 608 Ball bearing, cheapest economy version should do nice
2x M6 carriage bolt
2x M6 nut

Optional 1:
Due to the very low resistance i found that unbalanced spools or jerky movement from the printer can unwind to much filament and cause problems. To fix this a magnet can be fitted in the pillar along with 8 M5 nuts fitted in the side of the roll. This gives a smooth stepping resistance to counter exces movement. Depending on how strong the magnet is this can be done on both sides if necessary, with a neodym magnet one side should be just right.

Additional material needed:
1x Ø10 x 3mm Magnet
8x M5 nut

Optional 2:
The pillars can be fitted with 4mm bolts in the bottom to adjust the height.

Additional material needed:
2x M5 bolt
