Filament Spool Holder for Replicator 5th Generation

This filament spool holder is designed to work seamlessly with the MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation 3D printer, providing a low-friction alternative to the built-in spool holder that's already installed.\nIt perfectly complements both the standard MakerBot filament spools (thin and tall) as well as the smaller spools (fat and short), preferred by many third party manufacturers for their convenience.\nTo adjust to different sizes of spools, simply slide the filament supports closer together or further apart and switch the retaining dowel from bottom to top (or vice versa).\nThe design utilizes two long dowels that bridge the printer's top, ensuring a stable setup, while an optional third (smaller) dowel is fed through the center of the spool to keep it firmly in place.\nIf you notice that the bottom supports are shifting excessively, we recommend using 3M Command strips (in small sizes) to securely attach the support to the MakerBot chamfer for added stability.\nTo build this filament holder, print a total of six components: four bottom ones (choose short or tall depending on your preference) and two top pieces.\nIn addition to printing with the desired type of filament, you will also need several key components: \n2x 5/8 inch wooden dowels cut to at least 20 inches in length (I found 21 inches to be a great fit)\n1x 5/8 inch wooden dowel cut down to about 6 inches for additional support\n4x standard skateboard bearings (I personally use ABEC 7 bearings, but any high-quality option should suffice)
