You can attach this holder to a vertical extrusion at the back of your 3D printer to hold a spool of filament. And a second one for the second Extruder. And a third one for the spare-spool. SCAD-file: You can customize almost everything to fit your preferences and printer setup. STL-file: I used spools that are 9cm wide. The STL-file is compatible with 20mm aluminum profiles and M5 screws. EDIT: Added a calculation for achieving the desired wall thickness in the end cone regardless of extreme overhang angles. Thanks to Jan for helping me with this project. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: CL-260A Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 40% Notes: I used a 0.2 layer height because I print everything with that setting, with a 40% infill for extra strength. If you want a sharp-edged end cone on this model, I recommend using support material. On my printer, I can produce this without support material at 40°, so I set this as the default value. I printed my version without the end cone, but with an end plate. By adjusting the end cone overhang to your desired angle, you can customize this model in another way. How I Designed This I had to recall simple school mathematics for calculating the translation distance of the inner (subtracted) cone. Greetings Pythagoras!
