I decided to tackle the issue of PLA filament springing off the spool head-on. The result is a clever contraption that keeps the filament in check. Three rollers with high-quality F608zz bearings stay firmly pressed against the spool's flanges, preventing the filament from escaping and getting tangled up. Each roller is precision-crafted to be tapered at both ends, ensuring that the spool remains perfectly centered within its holder. The F608zz bearings make it a breeze for the extruder to pull out the filament with ease. This nifty device can accommodate spools ranging in diameter from approximately 140 mm to 210 mm and width up to 120 mm.
