Filament Spool Holder
cults3d
I took the Universal Filament Spool holder design by DDeGonge888 and recreated it and adjusted the sized to suit my supplies on hand. The largest factor was my rollers. I look around my local big box hardware store, and found no bearings. Being impatient and not wanting to wait for a package to arrive in the mail. I went with rollers for a sliding door, they have built in bearings and come two to a package. The package was about 6 dollars. The really nice thing about them is that they already have a built in groove that the spool edge fits into nicely. For securing the rollers I just used extra machine screws 10-24 1 1/4", nuts, and washers I had on hand. 1" screws would work too, I just didn't have any handy. (screw-washer-plastic-washer-bearing-washer-plastic-washer-nut) Fits nice a snug and rotates freely. .IPT file is included so you can modify to fit your own solution. I would rotate it so the base is down for printing. Also you'll need to make sure your printer can do some bridges or add supports if it's a trouble spot for you.
