Filament Spool Holder
thingiverse
This is an external filament spool holder that sets on the table or desk and you set the spool on the wheels. I designed this because my printer's internal spool holder only fits 0.5 kg spools and I like to purchase 1 kg spools, so I needed an external spool holder. To make this, you will need to print one (1) body, two (2) posts and caps, and four (4) wheels. Two (2) wheels go on each posts and you can slide them along the post to fit whatever size spool you are using. I made the tabs on the caps a bit smaller than the hole on the end of the posts, so I would recommend gluing the caps into the posts to make it more durable. Otherwise, this should work straight off the printer. The only other tip I would give is that I had a little trouble removing the posts and caps from the printer when I printed them without a raft because of the small size of the surface making contact with the print bed, so you might consider using a raft or a brim and printing multiple pieces at a time (I printed both posts and both caps in the same run).
