Filament Spool (Diameter 80mm)
thingiverse
I modified this model because I purchased a filament cartridge without the spool, and it wouldn't fit in any of mine, so I adapted the model to be about 80mm inside diameter. Description by Dingoboy71 Decided to make a couple of improvements: I shaved the outer 2mm off the entire spool to use less plastic, and added filament anchors along both inner & outer edges. There are now 3 anchors on the inner edge of differing angles to give you options, and 5 outer rim anchors for tying up the loose end. Also, the thinner walls should allow you to use more of the various filament clips you might have lying around if you so choose. The new files are called the "Small Holey Spools." I am not removing the originals because choices rock. Original description by tamel55 This is a smaller spool in 2 pieces which screw together. It's intended for winding your smaller quantities of filament, leftovers, etc. I'm finding it quite useful for my filament samples from MakerBox as well as winding small quantity leftovers. This is a very quick remix of the "small spool" thing created by tamel55. It's an awesome and handy design, but when I tried to slice it in Simplify3D or Cura, the threads on the male side of the spool came out with lots of holes in between the threads, almost like the wall behind them was made of mesh. So I simply dragged the model into Tinkercad, "sleeved" the inner surface to thicken it by about 1mm all around, and it sliced fine after that. All credit for the elegant & handy design goes to tamel55. Bi-color print was not planned. I just ran out of blue & grabbed a box labelled "purple." I guess a light magenta passes for purple in China. LOL
