Filament Spool Dessicant Container
prusaprinters

If you've printed with any of the hydrophilic filaments like TPU, PETG, or Nylon, you know how critical it is to keep them dry! There are several excellent desiccant bead holders you can download, but I wanted one that printed fast, (under 1.5 hrs) and used a minimum of material.

This desiccant bead container works great if you store your filament in resealable bags. I've had good success with Hefty 2.5 gallon jumbo slider bags and also recently discovered HAWKUNG 3D Printer Filament bags. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YNH8Z9G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They come with a hand pump and seal very well! A little silicone or vegetable oil on the bag zip seal, stops any air leaks.

These are the beads I've used. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G5NTFGU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Prints well with PLA at .2 layer height on a well tuned printer.

Files updated 3/5/22 (Improved threads on lid to make it easier to screw on/off)
