A multi-material extravaganza awaits! ABS, stainless steel, and wood come together in perfect harmony. 3D printers are indeed awesome, but there's no reason everything has to be printed on one. That would be a waste of this incredible technology! I firmly believe that striking the right balance between print time, strength, and sheer fun is the key to unlocking true 3D printing mastery. And that's exactly what I've achieved with my A-frame design. Customize it to your heart's content - make it whatever size you need! Mine was tailored specifically for Hatchbox spools, but the possibilities are endless. The feet feature adhesive foam to keep it running silently, ensuring a smooth and quiet operation. The spool slides effortlessly on its axis, while the axle simply drops into place. One of the 54 mm adapters boasts a cleverly designed ridge to prevent the spool from sliding off. To take up any small gaps, I use a single round of gaffer tape on the stop end - it's a simple yet effective solution. This design is robust enough to support multiple 1kg spools, as long as they're tall and wide enough for your needs. Just make sure to size it accordingly, and you'll be good to go! For added versatility, there are numerous other spool axles available on Thingiverse, including the one I used (found here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:767317). It's a great option if you have different spool hub sizes - definitely worth checking out!
