Three Part Spool Designed for Robo 3D I needed a sturdy spool that could handle a pound of filament when used with my Filastruder and Filawinder. A spool with complete sides and bottom was essential to keep the filament wound neatly. Once assembled, it would attach seamlessly to my Robo 3D. The design features a three-part structure that is printed separately and then glued together for a strong hold. After trying an arm-type filament holder, I found it to be problematic - the filament often got stuck due to its design. To avoid this issue, I now use either Part 3 or solid-printed Part 3 with two to three vertical shells. The difference is negligible. Printing Results To date, I've printed ten of these spools using both methods. However, I've forgotten why I preferred one method over the other. Perhaps it was due to aesthetic appeal or perhaps there's another reason altogether. Despite my inability to recall the exact reason, the end result remains satisfactory.
