Why?The original model is very well made, I found it one of the most aesthetically pleasing and most practical one. I had found my thing. 😄But, after printing the first few layers (to create a sjabloon) - looking in hardware shops, asking people, it was clear a ¾" like type of pipe would not be an easy find here. Not in Gent, Belgium. Maybe not in Europe. damn! But then.. I thought: way not make this your very first remix? and learn your 3D app a bit better? And so I went… Turns out I cannot really change an STL that easy with it. or I didn't find how. haha well.. is it really a remix if I redrew the model in Shapr3D? Yes It is 😉 ….Technically. It's not a 1/1 copy, curves are a bit different and of course the holes as well.I'm going to add some accessories along the way in the mix to. The first one being a kind of ‘stopper’ that you can you can clip on the bars to hold the filament in place. What are you using it for?Personally I'm using this setup to feed the MK4. This setup allows me to quickly swap filament but also use some of the bigger rolls of 2KG that are wider or have a higher radius. I'm also planning to get the MMU. That said: my space is limited, especially the ‘prime real estate’ aka the desk space/floor space. My dad is going to build something like this to store the rolls in his tinier apartment. Maybe as a feed too if it works for the Mini.Building tips?BendingWe added a metal bar inside the tube to prevent bending. Given I cannot add extra supports. I lift the bar up a bit on the left and then slide the rolls on.  An extra support will hinder this. We are thinking of using a stopper under the bars that is linked with a chain to the roof-wall. Something like a floating support.HeightMine is positioned on the wall at the same height the original spool holder was. This way I was sure it would work best. I could keep the existing filament guiding system as well. We used a level to do this.Print settingsfilament: Prusament PETGSupports: None Infill: 15% infill (10% for the stoppers)Infill pattern; HoneycombPerimeters: 4Release Logv 2.0Added a shorter version. This one holds 1 bar and is meant to be used as a filament roller. I have printed 12 of these for my new filament wall as show in the new cover picture. We have mounted 5 of them next to each other for the MMU, and another longer bar to hold the bigger spools or other spools to easy print single material again. For this I just pop out the PTFE tube from the Nextruder. The shorter version uses the same footprint, allowing to re-use the holes in the wall. In the pictures the short one is on top of the longer one. My logo is also a little less deep. As with both versions, this logo is not visible when mounted.v 1.0Initial release.
