Filament Shelf

Edit 10/11/2018: Due to growing demand for this design I plan to revamp this page with fresh files, a more detailed description, and step-by-step assembly instructions. Additionally, I will create a parametric file that allows users to specify the dowel diameter and mounting screw size. Please share your feedback on this design and suggest any further changes you would like to see. Edit 4/17/17: Version D has been added to accommodate printers with an average build area. This version features spools that sit higher on the shelf, reducing clearance between them and the wall from one inch to a quarter of an inch. This change makes the design more compact. To maximize storage space and maintain organization, I created this wall-mounted shelf for my filament rolls. The traditional rod-based design has its drawbacks; you must remove half the spools to access the middle one. In contrast, my design employs two 1-inch diameter wooden dowels that support the filament, allowing easy access to any spool. I've even included small tags to label each group of filament. Remember to drill the shelves into studs rather than sheet rock for added stability.
With this file you will be able to print Filament Shelf with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Filament Shelf.
