I'm working on a compact "out of filament sensor alarm" that's fully self-contained, including a power source and alarm buzzer. The design is an innovative remix of several existing designs. I've incorporated a 2025 button battery as the power source and attached the buzzer to the case bottom. The challenge lies in attaching the sensor to the da Vinci 1.0 series without obstructing filament flow. To address this, I created inner and outer clips that align and guide the filament towards the sensor. Since I have a single extruder, I utilized the second guide hole for the clips. However, users with dual extruders will need to remove one or both guides. The actual sensor is securely attached to the frame's underside via velcro. The unit consists of four components: the case, cover, inner clip, and outer clip. This project was created using Tinkercad, an online 3D design platform.
