Filament Sensor Utilizing BLTouch End Stop Switch on Ender 5 To create a filament sensor utilizing the switch from the left over end stop from an Ender 5, you must first have installed a BLTouch. You will need to desolder the switch from the end stop circuit board, keeping the tiny screws that are used to fix the switch to the filament sensor bracket. Next, cut two 6-7 mm long pieces of Teflon bowden tube and insert them into the Ø4 mm holes in the bracket. This ensures the filament glides through the bracket with better precision. The addition of suitable mounting features for easy mounting to the Ender 5 is likely. Time will tell if it happens. Adding an internal guide or a funnel shape to the inside of the bracket could make loading new filament easier. Update August 25th: - The design was changed to allow for easier loading of filament. - A pointing arrow was added to indicate the direction of operation. - More pictures were added, although they are not showing.
