Filament Sensor for the Ender 3

Filament Sensor for the Ender 3

thingiverse

After installing the BL-Touch on the Ender 3, I discovered that the stock Z-stop switch was no longer necessary. So, I decided to remove it from the Ender and repurpose it as a filament sensor. I connected it to the Raspberry PI and used the "Octoprint Enclosure" plugin to detect when the filament ran out, which worked seamlessly. Next, I printed the case for the sensor and inserted two small pieces of PTFE tube to prevent the filament from scratching against the PLA.
