Filament Sensor Case w PTFE & Mounting Holes

Filament Sensor Case w PTFE & Mounting Holes

Loved the original concept of this sensor case, but encountered a problem - filament would sometimes snag/drag through it, resulting in imperfect prints. To solve this issue, I drilled holes for 4mm PTFE tubing so that filament can pass through smoothly. Additionally, I added mounting holes to attach it easily to my FT5 printer's extrusions. I didn't bother with a case cover since it would need to be removed every time the filament is changed. This design uses a commonly available endstop module as a sensor, such as this one: https://amzn.to/2GYdmtL The 4mm outer diameter, 2mm inner diameter PTFE tubing I'm using is standard and widely available: https://amzn.to/2E7HKyX It's connected to my Raspberry Pi, which runs Octoprint with the Filament Sensor Reloaded plugin: https://plugins.octoprint.org/plugins/filament_sensor_reloaded/
