Filament Sample Swatches - Now with Color Hex Codes

prusaprinters

Updated August 1st (See below)I created a number of filament swatches using the python scripts and openscad generator by @markusdd and wanted to save some people the time of doing them. This was my first upload here on Printables. I made some tweaks to the Python code and JSON files found on his GitHub to meet my specific use cases. This is a quick and fast project to create a library of samples for filaments used.If you find value in this please Like and post a Make - thanks! For a box to hold your samples in, the original version by Zahg contains a number of versions all of which fit these perfectly. Currently there are cards made for filaments from the following (some are aff links):AmolenAtomic FilamentBambu LabsCookieCadeSunHatchboxIIIDMax (5% coupon code link)InlandPolymaker (PolyLite, PolyTerra, & the majority of HueForge Packs)PrusamentSunluZiroEach swatch has the following:Color NameNozzle TempHex Color Code (NEW!)Manufacturer NameMaterial TypeOpacity windowsI generally create a swatch for every new color/manufacturer I purchase and will update here as wellPrinting Instructions:On the X1C, you can print four cards to a bed using the standard 0.20mm profile, and to make it fast and less flushing of the poop, set the slicer to print by object (see screenshot below):Import 4 of the STLs at a time into Bambu Studio (or Orcaslicer), Select the colors for each card from the AMS and hit Arrange Objects (see below). This will ensure you have no collisions when printing by objects:Configuring the print this way prints much faster and reduces flushing volumes drastically. The 4 cards above are 19.23g for the model, 0.72g flushed and prints in ~38min:--------------------------------------------------------------Updates:August 1stI received a bunch of samples from Atomic Filament. A friend suggested I try it and even got me samples for my birthday next week! Have to say this stuff prints amazingly and I've created samples for each of the ones I've tested so far… 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐July 18th Got around to creating (and printing) the rest of the Polymaker PLA samples I had in queue. Added around 100 more samples to the PolyMaker folder – take a peek! Still need to get around to a bunch more but there are now over 200 sample cards to download!July 14th Updated licensing to GPL 2.0 to match the remixed model.I started using toolkits where the color codes are super important (hueforge, lithophanes and other projects), and I am a photographer so color matters. I have removed the AMS compatibility information (really superfluous) and replaced it with the HEX color value on the swatch. This is much more useful to me. I retrieved the color codes from the manufacturer where possible, and used a digital color meter to get something close for the rest. Also added samples from Polymaker and Prusament. Older versions of the cards were archived in the Old Versions folder.
