Filament Sample Spool Winder
thingiverse
This tool assists you in winding filament for trading samples with your fellow 3D printing enthusiast. For a filament exchange, we had to portion several meters of filament from larger spools. Doing so by hand was extremely laborious and consumed a great deal of time. Utilize this spool with a cordless drill to rapidly create sample rolls of 50-150g that fit perfectly into 200x250mm vacuum bags. The front plate is clipped on for easy removal of the wound filament. Assembly necessitates two 8.4x30mm washers, one M8x50 screw and one M8 nyloc nut. This creation might be printable without support but to provide clean edges for the clips I used support enforcers for the relevant parts of the model. Print with PLA using a 0.3mm layer height, 3 shells and 30% gyroid infill for sufficient mechanical stability. You may want to use a tiny amount of glue stick under the inner part of the clip wings to prevent them from detaching while the top part is bridged.
