thingiverse
Simple nema 17 mount filament runout sensor using your unused z end stop switch and the spot your extruder motor used to sit before you converted to direct drive. Requires a bearing. print at 50% infill or higher, .2 or better. print. Bearing goes on shaft, mount z switch, glue smaller guide to switch arm. feed filament through holes. wire back to board. My extruder has bowden mounts on both the in and out side, i run a bowden from the extruder back to this sensor, where it fits snugly and is held without glue.
