Filament Runout Sensor optical
thingiverse
After catching a glimpse of the design at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1646220, I decided to remix it myself to include a few key additions. First and foremost, I wanted to incorporate a bracket that would allow me to mount this new component securely within my frame. Next up was an oil can designed specifically for lubricating the filament as it passes through various mechanisms. To get everything up and running smoothly, all you need to do is enable the relevant setting in your Marlin software and connect to pin D4 on your Ramps board. This clever little creation was brought to life using Tinkercad - a fantastic online platform that lets you edit and refine your designs with ease.
