Filament Roller for Geeetech Prusa i3 Pro
thingiverse
I was fed up with my filament rolls taking up space on the table and not feeding smoothly, forcing the print head to work even harder. So, I designed a holder that adds weight to the printer to reduce vibrations, takes up no table space at all, feeds very smoothly, is extremely affordable, and is an absolute blast to make! Another fantastic feature is that it works seamlessly with any width rolls. This was specifically designed and fitted to my Geeetech ProB. Here's a video of it in action: https://youtu.be/fblHYSH-NGg There are three distinct components to this print: * Horizontal strut * Vertical strut * Roller holder You will need to print the following quantities: 2 X horizontal struts 2 X vertical struts 2 X roller holders per roll you want. So, for example, 3 rolls would require printing a total of 6 pieces. The recommended print settings are as follows: * Horizontal and vertical strut: I printed with a 40% fill to make them strong enough * Roller holder: 20% fill You will also need the following extra bits: * 2 x (8mm diameter x 30mm threaded rod) * 8 x 8mm flange head nuts * 4 x SKF 608 [8x22x7mm] bearings per filament roll, so for 3 rolls you would need 12 bearings in total * 6 x 3mm diameter x 20mm long black hex bolts machine screws * 6 x 3mm diameter nyloc nuts Assuming you're aiming to use this with 3 rolls of filament, the cost of these extra bits would be approximately £20. If you'd rather not purchase them separately, just let me know and I can put together a package containing all the necessary components.
