Filament Roll (Optimus Remix)
thingiverse
I was struggling to print the filament roll spool supplied by Febtops on GitHub. I decided to take their design and break it down into two separate parts. To achieve this, I followed these steps. 1. First, I printed the outer spool without using any support material. 2. Next, I printed the inner spool, pausing the print when it reached approximately 75mm in Z height or about 80% completion. 3. In the print head movement window, I selected 10 as the unit of measurement and raised the head 10 times to achieve precise control. 4. Then, I carefully slid the outer spool over the top of the inner spool, lowering the print head 10 times again to ensure accurate positioning. 5. Finally, I returned to the other menu and pressed play to continue the print process. This method successfully recreated the desired effect of having the outer spool freely floating around the inner roller.
