I found some old filament in a box, but the spools didn't fit on my enclosure's spool carrier. I'm trying to figure out how to do stuff in Blender and thought this would be a fairly easy project.

Respooler Files

filamentRespoolerBit - This slides into the bolt's head and can be gripped in a drill's chuck. I used some super glue so I won't lose it, but it isn't necessary.

filamentRespoolerHub

filamentRespoolerHubKeyed - There is a small key that is made to slip into a Prusament spool and help hold it in place. I don't think it was necessary. You're probably better off printing two hubs instead of a regular hub and a keyed hub

filamentRespoolerAxle - A big bolt

Test Files

filamentRespoolerHubTest

filamentRespoolerAxleTest

You can print these out separately from everything else to ensure that the axle will screw into the hub. If it doesn't, you can adjust the X and Y (NOT Z) scaling of the axle until it does screw in properly. Once you're satisfied, you can apply those settings to the full size Axle and the Bit.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

200

Infill:

15

Filament:

Generic PLA Silver

Category: 3D Printing
