Filament reel holder

Filament reel holder

Here is my version of a filament reel holder. Each half has a 22mm*7mm bearing pushed in. An M8x150mm bolt is the axle. The first reel holder is mounted with a washer between the bearing and the post for a bit of clearance. Then another washer on the other face and an M8 nut holds the assembly tight to the post but allowing the reel holder half to spin freely. As I used a channel section as the post, a length of tube is fitted over the bolt so it can be tightened up well without squashing the channel. The knob has an M8 nut heated and pushed in the hex hole. A reel is placed on the shaft, against the first half of the reel holder, then the second half is slid on and the knob with the nut (towards the outside) is threaded on. The CAD file is here... https://www.tinkercad.com/things/4MaAZQB569C-reelholder/edit 2 reel holders are needed, and one knob. EDIT: I've changed the bolt to a length of threaded rod so 2 reels could be mounted. So, 2 sets of parts need to be printed. This is very handy as now I can have the next reel already to go when I need to swap from one to another.
