Here is a simple way to add a bearing to a reel for 3/4" PVC: Use six #6 x 3/8" machine screws and washers. File down the washer surfaces until they are flat. The standard size of the holes is 60 mm, but you can remove the outer tabs if you need 55 mm holes or all of them for 48 mm holes. Make sure the washers move freely before applying adhesive to the reel. Use a rasp to mark the areas where you will apply glue. Goop worked well as an adhesive, but crazy glue had limited success.
