Filament Monitor /Jam/Clog/Length/Flow rate/Filament Run Out
thingiverse
I decided to create a filament flow sensor, as the ones available online were prohibitively expensive. I therefore designed my own version. The printed component features an 600pr encoder paired with a 608zz bearing. The encoder is connected to a controller that measures the filament flow and transmits this information via the serial port. If a jam or out of filament condition is detected, an M600 command is sent to the 3D printer. This feature can be configured using a button, and the LED's color changes in response to the state. This project was created with Tinkercad and is available on my Tindie page. You can also edit it online at https://www.tinkercad.com/things/0xGkDLscX0s
