Filament Management System
thingiverse
I got tired of seeing filament spools scattered around and I felt like I needed to do something about it. I searched for a filament management system, but couldn't find one that suited my needs. So, I decided to create my own. You can print as many spool holders as you want. There are parts for smaller (70mm) and larger (110mm) spools, so it can be used with any type of spool. I designed this system to look good and function well too. In the "thing" there is a small gap at the top that can be used to insert a sponge soaked in oil to clean the filament from dust. This system can be used with or without teflon tubing, but it's better with them, I think. I've used the parts listed below. If you're using 3mm filament, let me know and I can adjust the diameters etc. I've included an upper mount so you can build upwards, not just sideways. Unfortunately, this is still a prototype and a bit wobbly, but it's usable, I guess. I haven't tried it yet. The "thing2" parts can handle 8 filaments. If you need more, let me know. I hope this helps other people like it has helped me. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 or less Infill: 20% Notes: You can print this with the lowest resolution and it will still work. Only the "Things" should be printed with a layer height of 0.2 or 0.3 mm because that's where you mount the coupler. I used Cura to slice the objects. Maybe you'll need to scale them down by 1/10. For better print results, rotate the "thing"s and "lower stand" by 90°. You'll only need support material for the "upper stand". How I Designed This I designed this with Autodesk Inventor
